First consultation:
Homeopaths understand that symptoms are clues or evidence of the body's natural/automatic efforts to heal itself. When deciding on a homeopathic remedy, more of these clues are used than in conventional medicine. The patient, therefore, may be asked about all sorts of things that may seem irrelevant to the 'presenting symptoms'. However, in order to build up a clear understanding of the whole picture of the patient's state of health, information will be gathered about general health, sleep, apetite, fears, character and personality traits etc. this means that the first consultation could take up to two hours.

Follow-up consultations:
You will normally be asked to return for a follow-up appointment after 4 to 6 weeks to discuss your progress and to note any changes that you may have experienced after taking the remedy. (This consultation can take up to an hour.)
You will normally be asked to arrange follow-ups every 4-6 weeks until you feel you no longer need to return for a remedy.
Patients often feel a sense of wellbeing, optimism and relaxation after taking their homeopathic medicine. It is difficult to say how long you will need homeopathic treatment as your recovery rate will depend on the nature and duration of the illness and your individual vitality. However, you should certainly feel some benefit, however subtle, after the first course of treatment - this is something that will be considered carefully at the second and subsequent consultations and changes made to treatment, where necessary.
